1
YEARS EXPERIENCE

In 2013, Wayne set up his independent consultancy practice with the aim of helping the fire engineering supply-chain to gain access to cost-effective expertise on a consultancy basis. Morgan Health & Safety Solutions (morganhss.com) has evolved over the intervening years by embracing the IT and cloud-based technology revolution. As a result of the escalation in remote working and learning following the pandemic, morganhss.com has adapted even further.

We have embraced social media tools, apps and our interactive website to provide e-learning solutions and Office365 tools, such as Teams, to communicate with our clients, reducing costs and saving time. We keep abreast of new and emerging trends to ensure we follow best practices. Our mission is to “Help our clients achieve an incident-free, safe, reliable and secure workplace, community and environment”. We also aim to upskill, retrain and educate new entrants, experienced workers and managers to get the training and qualifications they must have to keep pace with the ever-changing demands of the economy.

The construction industry, in general, and the sprinkler industry, in particular, has an ageing workforce. BAFSA has undertaken Labour Market Information (LMI) research for the fire sprinkler companies at regional and national levels, and this means people retiring from the sector, taking their skills, knowledge and vast experience with them. With little or no widespread and industry-led focus on developing skills and qualifications, there is an urgent need to attract a new generation of young people into all areas of industry, including installation, design, project management and maintenance.

  • Workforce composition – gender, age profile, ethnic groups compared to total workplace population divide
  • Skills and qualifications – the match between employer demand for specific skills and qualifications and those which exist within the workforce
  • Legislative and political influences – such as industry regulation
  • Looking at the future skills and training needs of the industry

Having already established a shortage of young people within the industry, the focus is needed to ensure the industry raises its profile to encourage and show those looking for job opportunities that the fire sprinkler industry is a career to look forward to. The area in which Morgan HSS will focus its resources; is to help the sector meet the needs of the new generation of sprinkler installers, project engineers, managers and maintenance teams to ensure the continued viability of the sector. We will continue to support the construction industry in general, so if you need to train, retrain or upskill yourself, your employees or your customers, contact us, and we will be delighted to assist clients old and new.
